Mutagenesis and Carcinogenesis
Aim of the course
The aim of the course is to familiarize participants with the mechanisms by which DNA damage causes genetic alterations and cancer and the cellular processes which protect human beings from the deleterious effects of DNA damaging agents.
In this module, we will focus on the different types of damage that can be formed in the DNA of our cells either spontaneously or because of exposure to DNA damaging agents in the environment, the cellular defense mechanisms that preserve genetic integrity and the biological consequences of non-repaired DNA damage in particular the induction of mutations in relation to the development of cancer
Please note that the course can be cancelled up to one month before its starting date, when the number of applications is below the minimum required. For general inquiries please contact the PET Office.
